So the question is can I put a 12at7 in the first preamp slot or the extra gain stage slot of my Custom Lead High Gain. If I do the substitution will I need to think about rebiasing. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

hey onion

you dont need to rebias any sort of preamp, its the output stage and not the distribution stage.

the at7 is a really clean, low gain tube and it would probably clean the tone up a lot. and since it is low gain, it wont break up and will last longer.
