I like most all different tubes for certain tones but i think my favorite comes from kt88s, huge clean sound. But not at 200 watts, a bit to much power for studio or bedroom use for me so just 2 kt88s would be nice at around 100watts. And it may just be me but i like my amps without power scaling(call me crazy). i dont mind the master control of the hiwatt design where you control preamp and power amp separate. And unlike old hiwatts i need a tube bias control so thats a must. even an added tube reverb circuit inside would be very sexy addition for some mellowed out tunes. But i think the main thing that would make the amp great would be the reeves handwired build quality. Now that would be my wish/dream amp. that running a vp reeves 4x12 with some pete cornish pedals would really rock my world to the point of no return _________________ Hi, im Mike. |

| I think a "Jimmy" would be awesome with KT88s, I think that's what he ran in those other amps he used? Massive! |
